Åland Islands

The Åland Islands are a small archipelago situated in the Baltic Sea between Sweden and Finland. Although they are part of Finland, they enjoy a high degree of autonomy, with their own parliament (Lagting) and Swedish as the sole official language.

The islands’ population hovers around 30 000, fostering a tight‑knit, maritime‑focused community. Tourism thrives thanks to their picturesque ferry routes, historic wooden churches, and pristine natural scenery.
